What is a Symbiotic Cause?

Symbiotica was founded on the belief that mutually beneficial outcomes can be achieved through intelligent collaboration.

This belief is at the core of our company values, as we believe we all have a role to play in achieving a more sustainable society, environment and relationship with the natural world.

Rhino Cup Project, Mozambique

Symbiotica has been delighted to partner with Wild and Free Foundation in Mozambique where we have taken an innovative and collaborative approach to tackling the Rhino poaching crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa.

We are working with communities in rural Mozambique that have traditionally been the recruiting grounds of Poaching syndicates. Through the establishment and funding of a local football league, the project hoped to achieve a number of mutually beneficial outcomes for both the local communities and the Rhinos.

The football league has grown into a major focal point in the community. It has led to the emergence of micro-economies and provided focus and activity to the youth that the syndicates would traditionally target. In the span of just three short years we have seen a reduction in the number of poached Rhino in the area of 50%.
